Have a fun snow day!
As many of you may have guessed, we have snow and class is cancelled for today.
Have a fun snow day!
Thank you everyone who came out to help out!
Chinatown Parade, lettucing eating at the stores, and kung fu demo at the CCC – what a day!
Although we were all very exhausted and wet by the end of the day it fun to hang out with everyone again. There were a lot familiar faces we haven’t seen in a long time and new friends to be made.
PLUS this year we included lion dancing for Burnady Height’s Merchant Association check out the links below for photos they took of our handy work:

Just wanted to wish everyone a very merry Christmas!
Although the holiday season can be a lot of fun, it can also be quite stressful, especially for those who may be less fortunate. Keeping mind of others and offering a helping hand when possible is another way to spread the holiday spirit.
Be safe and enjoy the holiday with the warmth of family and friends.
Wow, I hope everyone’s been enjoying the summer! The weather has just been fantastic in Vancouver. Of course I can’t believe it’s August already, so we better enjoy the sun while it lasts.
Classes continue unabated naturally, so while the beach and other assorted activity’s beckon, what could be more enjoyable than a class of kung-fu fighting and lion dance? Build up some sweat and have some fun!
Class members are encouraged to come on down and swelter with us while new members are always welcome!
Everyone worked really hard to prepare for the show and we managed to overcome all obstacles.
Thank you for those who came out to support our team and took wonderful video footages and pictures.
I have just uploaded the photo gallery section with pictures from our show taken by Yammie.
A big thanks to everyone who came out to participate and support the team!
Brian has posted a ridiculous amount of pictures (as always) to give a “real time” experience of the evening.
This time Darlene has provided her artistic eye and camera skills to the show so that we can have double the coverage of our performance.
Thank you so much to you both!
Thank you so much for all your help! It would not have been as much fun without you guys.
Photos: We have some great pictures posted up on the photo gallery and more has been added for Hyack Parade and Canada Day. If you guys have any pictures you want to share with the group let us know.
Upcoming Kung fu Perfomances: For our participating demo group we’re going to have a small showing at the Chinatown Night Market 8:30pm on July 11th, 2009 (Saturday) and in front of New Westminster City Hall at 12pm on July 25th 2009 (Saturday).
We have entered two teams in the annual Hyack Parade in New Westminster. If you are taking the bus from the Chinese Cultural Centre (50 East Pender St., Vancouver)… you must be there before 8:30. The doors for Hoy Ping and Lee’s open at 7:30 AM for those who are helping with the equipment. If you are joining us in New Westminster, be at the assembly area ( 8th St. between 6th and 8th Avenues) by 9:30. Check with Leon if you are not sure which team you are on.
Note: because of the parade there will not be a class at Lee’s on May 23.
Wow, it looks like we might have a White Christmas after all and in honour of that class have been cancelled.
So that means you get to practice at home! Or better yet train your body by running out into the snow (not recommended or endorsed by NSTMA) just kidding!
Do be careful when you go outside and dress appropriately!
Enjoy the awesome winter and remember don’t eat the yellow snow.
Wow can you believe it’s December already? It’s almost Christmas and the New Year is right around the corner. I am, of course, referring to the Chinese New Year!
We’ve updated our video section with BCIT Magazine interview with our very own Chief Instructor Jun Y. Ing. For those who may not be aware, he is the Parade Marshall for the Chinatown Chinese New Year Parade and we all appreciate the great amount of work he puts into to make sure everyone and their family have fun! So check it out.
As the holidays approaches we’ll also be updating our website with more videos, pictures, and fun facts. So stay tuned NSTMAers!
